An amazing addition to any area of land and can also be scattered in pots and planters! These Beebombs come attractively packed in sustainably produced jute bags with paper labels. They make a beautiful gifts, or maybe you’re looking for a lasting and lovely way in which to remember a treasured pet. Simply scatter onto cleared ground, wait and enjoy your new wildflower meadow.
Since WW2 up to 97% of native British wildflower habitat has been lost. Biodiversity is crucial for many reasons and wildflowers are crucial to biodiversity.
With Beebombs you can re-create these lost habitats and help bring back the bees. Handmade in Dorset using sifted compost and sourcing local clay and packed with a range of 18 native wildflower species’ seeds, almost all of which are on the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘Perfect for Pollinators’ list.
Beebombs need no gardening skill and can simply be scattered straight onto open ground at any time of year (Spring and Summer are optimum though). Once scattered you don’t need to water or tend your Beebombs. Cleared ground is best, but it does not need to be tilled.
The compost used in the Beebomb will help them germinate and the clay will protect them as they dissipate. Some sun and rain is important of course, as is time. Your patience will be rewarded with a beautiful wildflower meadow, attracting a range of native British pollinators helping us to bring the bees (and butterflies) back! If putting in pots/planters remember that wildflowers prefer low nutrient soils, don’t dig them in and make sure they can get plenty of water and sun.
